For a second year in a row, the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) tied for first in Research in the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s annual Sustainable Campus Index (SCI). The Research category celebrates institutions conducting responsible research and innovation that advances sustainability.
UMCP is home to numerous sustainability research centers and institutes—including the Center for Global Sustainability and the Maryland Energy Innovation Institute—with over 90% of academic departments engaged in sustainability research.
